So further update and this BMC this review has no reflection on Biketart, Michael at Biketart was very good and got it soughed, this was an issue more to do with BMC, TQ and local BMC dealer in Cardiff and fault on the bike
So noticed a rattling sound when going over bumps after 3000 miles, rattling got worse so started to investigate found that the battery was rattling around in the down tube, 2 securing bolts holding the battery had come loose, so tried to tighten bolts could not, but bolts still captured in frame , so took it in to local BMC dealer they looked at it and battery had come loose bounced around in side downtube still functional but damaged, 8 weeks later got it fixed, 8 weeks, BMC slow to respond, TQ slow to respond, local BMC dealer had no account with TQ or Dongles and slow to chase issue cost me 3-4 weeks at least, so all in all disappointed, got it back it, started to ride again, starting to rattle again, so i need to take it back to Biketart for investigation 4 hrs away, this is the issue, no seismic damping between battery and frame, so vibration loosing the battery, and securing plastic screws and plastic battery housing very poor very week, a fault waiting to happen, bad design, bear in mind it an all road bike so this should not happen
i road 2 orbea gains to 20, 000 miles battery did not come loose same roads, very disappointed with this bike
so i know Michael at bike tart will get this looked at and sorted, it a shame it a good bike, a review…

TQ motor first 2000 miles no issues at all
so motor still whisper quite, motor map from TQ default perfect they have got it bang on i have adjusted level 3 slightly but loads of options here,
i do like the MAHLE x20 system but prefer the TQ 50, the MAHLE x20 is lighter, but TQ has much more power
the x20 has less drag than the X35, but the TQ has no drag
X20 is noisy, the TQ is whisper Quite
TQ good powerful motor perfect for me,
iPhone app for TQ really basic, MAHLE app is a millions miles ahead of TQ, TQ you need to sort this out, be nice if knew what firmware i was on, and be able to update via APP, again MAHLE x20 you can now update by Bluetooth
so to the BMC, so this is an all road bike at present the bike weighs 15kg, 2 kg more than i would like but it has Shwable Marathon + tyres on with slime tubes that 1.5kg extra,(no punctures ever) battery is bigger 350 watts and add motor weight, plus lights bike computers mudguard etc so there is the weight
but you know, not really that noticeable.
any super light bike that does pass me not many, a hill is coming up and guess what light bike not ahead anymore
so XPLR 1x system not much to say, i never used the small chain ring on my 3 pervious ebikes, so 1x works for me and range of gears are great only thing is bigger steps between cassette gears its a bit more noisy changing that's it really it .
I can do 27mph on the flat on a good day wind behind me not bad for 15kg bike, so an extra couple of higher gears not need,…

After riding 2 orbea gains MAHLE x35 hub for 15000 miles and a scott with MAHLE x20 hub for 1500 miles the scott had to be returned due many faults
I bought this BMC form the boys at bike tart who I thoroughly recommend
The BMC is slightly more heavey than the scott I am running Shwable marathon plus tires and slime tubes which adds 1.5 kg
But I know I will not get a puncture
No punctures over weight any day
So the bike with lights etc is 15kg so slightly heavier than I would like but riding it I do not notice the extra weight
So the bike is really
good to ride much better than the Scott to ride and feels like a go town up bike well made and a quality feel
The motor which is a TQ 50 is just outstanding
It is whisper quite only on full load and level 3 you can just about hear it
The TQ has no drag at all
the MAHLE x20 has a small amount of drag the x35 has a lot of drag
The power of the TQ vs MAHLE is very noticeable it about twice the power
The motor power setting by default on the app is spot on
It puts in the power when you need it
It matches what you put in and the LCD DISPLAY is superb
the motor connect to my cycle plus computer and the MAHLE plus one display
The motor has torque and cadence sensors built in I have the on board display showing battery . My power and the motor power in watts
So I cannot recommend this bike enough
The bike and motor combined is a just great the only thing I don’t like is the seat
It is very hard on my bum
I am now on 800 miles…
