Description

The Shimano XT SM-RT86 6 Bolt Ice Tech Disc Brake Rotor is designed for top-notch performance. Its unique 3-layer sandwich construction, made from stainless steel and alloy, effectively manages heat during rides.

This rotor's clad steel, alloy, and steel design allows heat from braking to disperse quickly through the aluminium core. This results in a surface temperature drop of about 50 degrees Celsius. When paired with Ice-Tec pads, temperatures can decrease from around 400 to 300 degrees Celsius, enhancing overall performance.

  • Ice-Tec rotors ensure long pad life, reduced noise, and less fade due to better heat dispersion.
  • Features a 6-bolt mounting system.
  • The rotor contact surface is crafted for excellent pad clearing and cooling, boosting pad performance and longevity.
  • A large forged alloy spider supports the rotor surface, increasing rigidity while reducing weight.

The Shimano XT SM-RT86 6 Bolt Ice Tech Disc Brake Rotor is a reliable choice for cyclists seeking improved braking performance and durability.

    Top of the Stops.

Quality lightweight disc at a very reasonable price that has good integral heat management so no high priced dinned pads needed. Happy Days .

    replacement

I had to change the original disc, I got a bit strong with the reaglinment. I used the correct tool but it left dentsin the disc when I tried to bend it, to stop the rub on the brakes on one side.

This is my only criticism butit does leave me wondering how robust in a harsh braking..
