The Phoenix 29 built off the back of feedback from Pivot’s own World Cup race team to offer a super-fast, incredibly smooth ride. It exists to allow professionals and amateurs alike to push their limits on the toughest terrain going.
From the wide-open ski slopes of Les Gets to the treacherously steep roots and rocks of Val di Sole, the Phoenix let our Factory Race Team push their personal limits like nothing else. That’s because from day one our race team was highly involved with the Phoenix design
The light Hollow Carbon frame, starting at just 2,900g, has been optimised for speed with short chainstays and a low centre of gravity for better stability at high speeds and when landing jumps.
The DW-Link suspension in this bike smooths over bumps with an unrivalled 190 of travel. It comes with a highly adjustable Fox Factory Float X2 air shock, chosen after extensive testing because Pivot’s Factory Race Team loved the feel of it and valued its superior response to turns and jumps. The hefty DT Swiss FR 560 29" wheels, too, were considered a must by the team for their smoothing action on rough ground, not to mention the superior grip, cornering and braking capabilities lent by the Maxxis Assegai tyres.
Wide Super Boost Plus 157 spacing, originally pioneered by Pivot, was also requested by the team, who appreciated the ability to pick up the front end on jumps, thanks to the short chainstays, as well as the improved cornering, tyre clearance for mud shedding, and wheel stiffness for a more secure feel and better pace.
This is a slender, light, masterful downhill bike that has been literally built for purpose with the help of DH World Cup pros and will handle fun runs at the bike park and high-stress racing with equally aplomb. Enjoy the ride and trust it to let you ride fast over any terrain you care to take on.
