Both rims use Zipp's Biomimetic Laminate, a mixed-modulus carbon layup that works like a muscle tendon — stiffer, higher-modulus fibres at the spoke bed for precise power transfer, and tougher fibres at the outer rim to shrug off road impacts. They're hookless Tubeless Straight Side rims with a wide 23mm internal width, so you can run 28–32c tyres at lower pressures for less vibration, less rolling resistance and more grip and control.
The wheels spin on Zipp's German-engineered ZR1 SL hubs, with corrosion-resistant hybrid ceramic bearings and 66 points of engagement for immediate, efficient power pick-up. Lightweight Alpina Hyperlite spokes in a 20-hole, 2-cross build keep rotating weight to an absolute minimum.
