    Amazing product

    For rocky aggressive xc/trail riding this is an amazing product which enhances all the characteristics of whatever tyre you put it in.

    Pros - rim protection , ability to safely run lower pressures which leads to better traction and bump absorption , better sidewall stability and run flat last resort. + comes with a good quality valve.

    Cons - 100g ,tyre installation takes a little more effort.

    A review and a tutorial.

    Pros - better side wall stability (great for off camber) , increased rim protection , increased comfort and better traction thanks to lower pressures.

    Cons - Weight 100g.

    I didn't even notice the extra weight benefits thanks to the additional technical climbing and descending capability it gave my bike especially in rocky and loose terrain.

    Context 130/120 Scott Spark used for very aggressive rocky cross country.

    Fitting method -

    Get one side of the tyre on the rim then put the insert in the tyre. Start putting the other side of the tyre on the rim starting from opposite the valve. You have to make sure the tyre bead is pushed properly into the centre rim chanel however it must be held in place or it will come loose as you work your way round the tyre. The best way to resolve this is using a pair on buckles to hold the sections of bead that you have put in the channel in place by tightly wrapping them around the tyre. Work your way round to the valve moving the buckles as you go. For the final 1/8th of the tyre have a couple of very sturdy tyre levers and use them as levers , slower movements generally work better and be careful not to break your rim tape otherwise you will have to restart.

    It will be much easier to stretch the tyre if it is warm so hairdryer or sunny day are not optional imo.

    Managed to get a 2 week old 2.4 schwalbe wicked will on with relatively little effort once i started using the buckles.

    As far as upgrades go for £40 there isnt much better.

    Now the best liner but still tricky to install.

    Vittoria’s latest gen airliners provided a significant upgrade to their original ‘green pool noodle’.

    Installation is painful, even with great tyre levers and hulk level brute force is required. Once installed the liners enable low pressure rolling fun.!

    The other down side is paying for the included Vittoria’s proprietary valves. In my opinion they’re not necessary if you already run good valves like Muc-Off or Peaty’s.
