Most bike computers want your attention. The Omata does the opposite. It is a GPS cycling computer with a true mechanical face: real hands sweep across a watch-style dial to show your speed, distance, climbing and ride time, while a 72-channel GPS engine quietly records every metre in the background. No maps, no turn-by-turn, no alerts and no beeps, just the numbers that matter, read at a glance like a vintage dashboard gauge.

Omata first appeared in 2016 as the world's first mechatronic cycling computer and quickly became a cult object. Silca has now brought it back, redesigning the circuit board, battery system and housing while keeping the heart of the original: a custom movement developed with Seiko Precision Instruments, with four stepper motors driving the hands. Because it is built around a finite supply of legacy Seiko components, every production run is naturally limited. Each unit is hand assembled and tested in Indianapolis.

Under the dial it is a thoroughly modern computer. Rides are saved as standard FIT files and synced through the Omata Utility app for iOS, where you can review summaries and share straight to Strava or TrainingPeaks. ANT+ support adds power meter, heart rate and cadence sensors, and USB-C charging gives up to 17 hours of riding per charge. The 6063 aluminium case carries a rotating bezel to switch between Ride, Stop and Connect modes, and a triple-barrier lip seal plus a Gore-Tex membrane over the barometric sensor keep the weather out. It mounts on any standard Garmin or Wahoo quarter-turn mount.

Choose the Imperial version, with a white dial reading miles, mph and feet, or the Metric version, with a grey dial reading kilometres, km/h and metres.
