The RX710 is a gravel racing shoe for riders who spend most of the day on the gas and only occasionally off the bike. It sits directly under the S-PHYRE RX910 and inherits the part of that shoe that matters most for pedalling: the Pontoon platform, which spreads load either side of the cleat so the shoe sits flat and stable on the pedal instead of rocking on the cleat alone.

The sole is carbon reinforced, rated stiffness index 9, with a seamless midsole structure and the supportive outsole cover carried over from the RC703. Lugs and toe spikes are there for the run-ups and the gate closures rather than for a full day of hike-a-bike, which keeps the weight at 310g in size 43.

The upper is a breathable, lightweight surround wrapping construction closed by two BOA L6Z dials, so you can back the tension off mid-ride as easily as you add it. Shimano Dynalast 2.0 gives the forefoot more room than the previous last, which is welcome several hours into a long gravel day, and the standard Shimano Dynalast 2.0 insole is included.
