The RC910 is the new flagship of Shimano's S-PHYRE road range and the first shoe built around the SPD-SLR system. Run with the new PD-R9300 pedal, total stack height drops to 17.4mm, which is 2.8mm lower than an RC903 on a PD-R9100. Less material between the ball of your foot and the pedal axle means a more direct, more stable connection, with no gap and no wobble under load.

Underneath is a Carbon Hollow Core sole rated stiffness index 12, built from carbon prepreg layered around a foam core and heat pressed into shape. The cleat mounting range has been redesigned for SPD-SLR so the cleat sits rearward without raising the sole, and the new indicator markings make it easy to read and repeat a position. A new external carbon heel cup locks the back of the foot down, and the heel pad is now replaceable and shared with the RC810. A +5mm taller heel pad is available separately if you stop and put a foot down often.

The upper is a one-piece 360° surround wrapping construction carrying a new honeycomb graphic and perforation pattern, closed by two BOA Li2F dials with an updated lace profile that is now common across the whole size range. Inside, Shimano Dynalast 2.0 opens up the forefoot: roughly 2mm more ball width and 3mm more toe width than the old standard last in size 43, with instep volume tuned separately across the wide, standard and narrow fits. The insole is a Shimano Dynalast 2.0 arch sync adjustable pad design with Silvadur anti-odour treatment.
