  • Shimano Saint M820 Disc Brake

Description

The Shimano Saint M820 hydraulic disc brakes are a superb choice for both enduro and downhill mountain bikes, known for their reputation of being powerful and a super reliable braking system. They are good value given the stopping power on offer and they look pretty savage too!

The world's best gravity riders rely on Shimano Saint brakes to deliver ultimate stopping power and nuanced modulation no matter the conditions. For sure braking in the roughest terrain, the BL-M820 levers are textured and feature tool-free reach adjust, Free Stroke adjustment, and I-spec B compatibility.

The ultimate gravity and downhill brake, the SAINT hydraulic disc brake features a rigid caliper, 4-ceramic pistons, and integrated Ice Technologies heat management.

Ice Technologies

Brake fade, which can occur to disc brake rotors and pads during long downhill rides, negatively impacts braking performance. Shimano's Ice Technologies disc brake rotors and pads use cooling technology for consistent performance. The clad rotor blade, with its three-layer structure of stainless steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, improves heat dissipation. The pads also feature a radiation fin for better cooling.

The Ice Technologies piston is designed for optimal lightweight, rigidity, and heat dissipation. Oversized pistons transfer hydraulic power directly to the brake pad, while ceramic material prevents heat transfer, ensuring stable and efficient braking. This design results in longer pad life, less noise, reduced fade, and lighter weight.

One Way Bleeding

One Way Bleeding” was developed for quick and easy prevention of air in our hydraulic system. We have streamlined the oil route throughout the system to prevent air bubbles from being captured in the system.

One way oil routing plus a funnel tool with mineral oil provides an easy and clean bleeding system.

Reach Adjustment

The brake lever features a reach adjust mechanism, allowing the distance from the handlebar grip to the lever to be customized to fit any hand size, riding style, and rider preference.

Free Stroke

When you pull a Servowave brake lever, the pads quickly move to contact the rotor with minimal lever movement. Once the pads touch the rotor, the lever stroke increases braking power rapidly, giving you better control.

Features:

  • Ice Technologies heat management -  including brake pads with aluminium fins, Ice-Tech rotor with radiator fins and extra-long banjo hose
  • High-performance caliper with 4-ceramic pistons in two different diameters
  • Ergonomic anti-slip 1.5 finger brake lever
  • Servo Wave Mechanism with short lever stroke
  • Adjustable free stroke and toolless reach adjustment
  • One-way bleed system: quick, easy and clean with funnel tool
  • 2nd generation I-spec-B-B compatible
  • Weight: 302 g (front brake incl. brake lever, hose, brake)
  • Retail boxed UK spec - right hand front, left hand rear

    Phenomenal stopping power

Upgraded from sram as I wanted instant breaking rather than progressive. Do not regret buying these. Easy to set up and bleed.
