    My favourite

I ride everyday and do not use a car. All weathers, and have used SRAM, KMC and Shimano chains. Its a tough call, but on balance I think the Shimano chains wear the best. I recently got over 2500 miles out of a Shimano Deore 2x10 drive train on a Genesis, which doesnt sound much in automotive terms, BUT I live rurally where the roads are potholed and covered in grit, and there is frequent flooding/deep water. Recent temperatures down to - 5 degrees C have meant loads of salt on them too. I clean my chain with a cheap chain cleaner every 2 days, and reoil it and I think it lasted very well! Only improvement would be a quick link (I bought and fitted a KMC reusable one). Back in the day we used to chuck out the shimano black master pin, split the chain into male and female ends and just rejoin it 'as normal' and I never had an issue. However, that was when 7 speed was the order of the day and so chains were a bit fatter then😁!

    Performs as expected

Along with a new cassette, my shifts are back to like new. Just a pain to fit compared to an SRAM chain.
