The Santa Cruz 5010 turns obstacles into features. Its nimble, poppy feel makes even the most mundane rides feel like they're loaded with features to hop, skip and jump over. It's the kind of mountain bike that makes new trails feel as familiar as the back of your hand.

The 5010 has always been more capable than many expected. But now with the traction-gaining 29-inch wheel up front and even more refined suspension, the Santa Cruz 5010 gives you an even defter touch on the trails.

The focus of the fifth gen 5010’s geo was to implement mixed wheels in a way that would give the rider a sure-footed experience in challenging terrain without losing touch with its jump-happy, slalom-turn loving tendencies. The bottom bracket height remains where it’s always been on the 5010: close to the ground for maximum cornering fun. Overall slightly longer and size specific chainstay length allows the rider to benefit from the approach angle and grip up front that MX wheels bring without needing to leave the cornering sweet spot for good  weight distribution. Our size-specific layup stiffness helps create a consistent ride feel across the size range. 

We gave the 5010 a very straight, highly progressive leverage curve to give the rider plenty of predictable support, bottom-out resistance, and playful response. This means the travel is accessible and bigger impacts aren’t as jarring as you’d expect from a short-travel bike. For 5010, we wanted to find the balance of support and grip to maximize the bike’s descending and big-hitting capability. We started with significantly less anti-squat to provide sensitive, ground-tracking qualities and reduced effects of pedal kick.

The new 5010 comes with the Glovebox storage facility in the downtube and includes the Tool Wallet and Tube Purse to stash all your ride essentials, whether that's tools and a jacket or a picnic.

The 5010 Carbon CC models feature a lighter and more refined carbon frame than the C models and there's a choice of 2 top-end build kits; SRAM X01 or SRAM X01 AXS Reserve which features electronic shifting and carbon wheels.
