DEG DF and DEG 90T - 

The DT Swiss DEG DF is an adjustable anti-pedal kickback system built on top of a standard 90T (90-tooth) star ratchet, allowing the hub to offer selectable "float" while the 90T refers strictly to the number of teeth and engagement speed

The 90T is a standard high-engagement star ratchet providing a fast 4° engagement angle. The DEG DF (Degrees of Freedom) adds an adjustable anti-kickback mechanism that lets you choose 0°, 10°, or 20° of free rotational movement before the hub engages

The 90T engages instantly, which can transfer chain pull and feedback to your cranks when your rear suspension compresses. The DEG DF isolates the drivetrain from the suspension by allowing free rotation (float) on 10° or 20° settings, smoothing out active suspension travel
