This small piece, imo should be included and speced in the OEM kit. But it isn't! The clamp is, so that's how your bike will come, as that clamp can be fitted to every bike, so if you have a hand position that means your dropper lever has a specific position for comfort keep the clamp, but if you want a tidy handlebar and another clamp is blocked because of your dropper buy this expensive bit of metal, you won't regret it and it will even save you a couple of grams ...
