The Crafty has been Mondraker's do-everything electric mountain bike for years, and the Carbon S is the most accessible way into the 2027 version. It's a 150mm bike on 29" wheels with a 160mm fork - enough travel to take on properly rough ground, but not so much that it feels like hard work on mellower trails.
Power comes from the Bosch Performance Line CX Smart System, paired with a removable 800Wh Powertube battery. Bosch's system is the known quantity in this market: predictable delivery, a huge dealer network behind it, and the Kiox 400C display with the Mini Remote gives you a clean cockpit and access to the Bosch Flow app for ride-mode tuning. Being able to pull the battery out matters more than people expect, whether that's for charging indoors or lifting the bike onto a rack.
The frame uses a Stealth Air full carbon front triangle with a Stealth Alloy rear, built around the updated Zero Suspension System. You get the one-piece Monoblock upper link, MAX capacity sealed bearings, oversize 15mm pivot axles, a UDH hanger and internal routing through the headset - the same chassis features as the more expensive builds in the range.
Suspension is a RockShox ZEB Base Rush RC fork at 160mm with a Fox Float-X LV Performance shock, and braking is SRAM DB8 four-piston with 200mm rotors front and rear. DB8 uses mineral oil rather than DOT, which some riders prefer for home servicing. The drivetrain is SRAM's mechanical 70 Eagle T-Type on e*thirteen Helix Core cranks, and the wheels are WTB Sportterra Tough on Frequenzy Sport hubs. Five sizes, S to XL, with size-specific dropper lengths.
