Flat bar, hydraulic discs and a light aluminium frame: the Speeder 60 is the simplest way into fast road riding without committing to drop bars. The Lite III frame is triple butted, hydroformed 6066 aluminium with internal cable routing, and it carries mounts for a rack, mudguards and a kickstand, so a fitness bike at the weekend can be a commuter on Monday morning. The 600mm flat bar gives you plenty of leverage in traffic and holds you upright enough to see what is going on around you.

Gearing is Shimano's ESSA 1x8, a 40 tooth chainring against an 11-45 cassette, which is a wide enough spread for most British hills and leaves you with one shifter to think about. Braking comes from Shimano MT200 hydraulic discs on Centerlock rotors. The Maxxis Detonator 32mm tyres roll quickly on tarmac, and if you want more cushioning the frame takes up to 700 x 35c, or 32c with mudguards fitted. The Comp SL rims are tubeless ready when you decide to make the switch.
