An air-sprung fork is the headline change on the Big Seven 40. The X-Fusion Migo 32 offers 120mm of travel with a lockout, and because it runs on air rather than a coil spring you can set it up for your own weight, which is the difference between a fork that works with you and one that simply sits there. The rest of the chassis is the familiar TFS V frame in double butted 6061 aluminium, with a tapered head tube, full internal cable routing and chain stay mounted disc brakes, rolling on 27.5in wheels.

Shimano's Cues U4000 1x9 drivetrain pairs a 32 tooth chainset with a wide-range 11-46 SunRace cassette, and MT200 hydraulic discs handle the braking. Kenda Booster tyres in 27.5x2.4 give plenty of volume for grip on loose ground, and the Comp SL saddle and Comp TR grips lift the contact points above what you normally see at this price. Mudguard and kickstand mounts and a threaded bottom bracket keep it practical to own year round.
