Purpose-built for the speed and intensity of modern downhill racing, the DHX features a new tread architecture with reinforced shoulder knobs that resist folding under extreme cornering loads, while shallow siping allows the tread surface to conform to the trail for exceptional mechanical grip.

New DH Casing Construction
At the heart of the range is the new DH Casing. Progressive casing stiffness keeps the tyre supple over chattery rocks and roots for a planted, damped feel, then delivers increasing sidewall support as cornering and impact forces build. It allows lower pressures (2–3 psi less than the previous-generation DH casing), improving compliance, traction and puncture protection while reducing the risk of a tyre or rim failure – so you reach the bottom of the mountain feeling fresher and ready to do it all again.

3C MaxxGrip – uses Maxxis' softest rubber compounds to offer the ultimate in grip and slow-rebound properties for unparalleled traction in downhill applications.
3C MaxxTerra – a slightly firmer triple compound that balances excellent grip with lower rolling resistance and longer wear, ideal for aggressive trail and enduro use.
DH / Downhill – the new dual-ply (120 x 2 TPI) downhill casing offering maximum stability and protection for World Cup-level racing and park duty.
Double Down (DD) – a dual-ply casing with a butyl insert that adds sidewall stability and pinch-flat protection while remaining lighter than a full downhill casing.
EXO+ – combines EXO sidewall protection with a supple SilkShield layer running bead-to-bead for added puncture and cut resistance at a lower weight.
Tubeless Ready – run lower pressures for more traction, enjoy lower rolling resistance than a tube-type tyre, and reduce the chance of flatting. Use only Maxxis-approved sealant; using liquid sealant in a non-tubeless Maxxis tyre will void the warranty.
