    KRYPTOLOK 610

    I lost the key for my 9kg bike lock and needed a replacement lock. I went into an independent bike shop off BYRES RD, GLASGOW seeking a similar lock, they did not have one and the highest standard lock they had was the 610. I've had it for 12 weeks using it for my 28km commute.

    PROS CONS

    Light compared to my 9kg chain Thin metal-bolt cutter attack?

    Can be attached to the frame, put in a bag Scratches the bike

    I want it handy so wrap it around my neck.

    Very versatile, wraps easily around and through various anchor points.

    Rotatating key barrel enhances versatility.

    Easy and quick to operate.

    excellent, well priced lock

    I found this Kryptonite 685 folding lock as a Best Buy in Which. They said that the only way they could get it off was with an angle grinder. Locks that loop over the frame and round a stationary object e.g. lamp-post, are important. So far, I've yet to be somewhere that I can't lock the bike up in this way with this lock. The holder for it, screwed into the standard holes in the frame, is also very convenient and saves having to cart the lock around in my panier.
