The Tech 4 EVO Trial Zone is Hope's dedicated trials brake, pairing the latest EVO lever with the brand's two-piston Trial Zone caliper. Trials is all about precise, repeatable control at very low speed, and this set-up is built for exactly that - big stopping power when you need to lock up on an edge, with a lever feel that stays predictable from first bite to full squeeze.
The EVO lever brings a new cam mechanism that cuts down the free stroke before the pads bite, while keeping modulation through the braking zone. A second guide bush keeps the piston running dead straight for a smoother action, and there's now a bleed port on the master cylinder body, so you can bleed the brake without taking the lid off. Tool-free reach and bite point adjustment carry over from the Tech 3, and the hinged clamp gives 30° of shifter angle adjustment plus lateral adjustment on both sides of the master cylinder.
Down at the wheel, the one-piece CNC-machined caliper runs two big 25mm aluminium pistons for power and stiffness, and it's designed to work with Hope's Trial Zone rotors. Hope quotes a 30% pressure increase over the Tech 3, thanks to a smaller master cylinder bore and a reworked mechanical ratio tuned using real riding data. Sold as a single brake with standard black hose and no rotor, in seven colours.
