The DT Swiss Ratchet DF Upgrade Kit brings the Degrees of Freedom technology from DT's DEG hubs to the classic star ratchet hubs found on a huge number of bikes and wheels. Fitted to a Ratchet or Ratchet LN hub, such as the 350 and 370, it adds 14° of float before the 54-tooth star ratchets engage, so the chain has less influence on the rear suspension as it moves through its travel.

The idea is that the suspension reacts more freely to impacts, with less drivetrain noise and a calmer feel through rough ground. It's adjustable too: flip the ratchets round to set zero float if you move the wheel to a hardtail or simply prefer the feel of a standard 54-tooth hub. Once it's installed, switching setting is tool-free and takes seconds with the wheel out. It adds no weight over a standard ratchet system, needs no more servicing than a standard hub, and is e-bike approved.

Fitting needs a ring nut tool to remove and refit the threaded ring, so choose the kit on its own if you already have one, or the version with the ring nut tool included. Both versions include a tool for refitting the seal on hubs with a hub-shell mounted seal, such as the 350.
