I’ve wanted to get higher bars for a while, my cube stereo race full suss came with a 10 or -5mm riser, I changed up to 35mm and it improved the bikes overall handling, jumping and position when riding. I’ve started using my bike slot for commuting to work and wanted a slightly higher position for low back and seating comfort. I read the reviews saying go 80mm and how glad they were and thought let’s give it a go! A few things I found out. 1 it made the bike look like a full suss shopper bike, the sweep back on the bars is quite significant and makes the cockpit/ riding area feel much smaller - I rotated the bars to be a touch more forward and it helped but still does feel quite right. On climbs the extra height means the you’re much further back and weakens your power, I had to move forward on my saddle a lot to get power down and even and stop the front wheel from getting light. The position puts you up into the wind slot more and makes cycling into a headwind harder work. So I’ve bought a set of 50mm and fitted those (different brand as I didn’t want the sweep back - although I’m sure the deity 50mm ones are prob v nice). The bike looks and feels much better. I’m 6’2 95kg and using on a full suss mtb - thought I’d share this for anyone not 100% on whether to go 50mm or 80mm
