3C Triple Compound - mountain technology uses a harder, longer lasting base layer and two progressively softer top layers in order to optimize traction and stability. Maxxis offers three different configurations of our 3C Triple Compound mountain technology: Maxx Speed, Maxx Terra and Maxx Grip.

MAXX TERRA - An intermediate compound configuration used in select mountain tires. 3C Maxx Terra is softer and offers more traction than 3C Maxx Speed, yet provides better treadwear and less rolling resistance than Maxx Grip.

MAXX GRIP - A new name for the downhill 3C compound configuration that you have come to know and trust. 3C Maxx Grip offers the ultimate in grip and slow rebound properties for unparalleled traction in downhill applications.

TR Tubeless Ready - Tubeless tyres provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tyre; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tyres provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tyre without the weight penalty. The square bead profile of our TR tyres is designed to work with the broad range of tubeless rims available on the market today. Our TR tyres use a special construction which allows the use of liquid sealants to make them airtight and to help prevent punctures. If needed, Maxxis TR tyres can also be used with an inner tube.

EXO - An extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of select mountain tyres. This densely woven material is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tyre remains unaffected.

Delivery Information

We have a range of delivery options on orders. Most importantly, if your order is over £50 then delivery is free!

All Biketart orders are fully trackable. You will get a tracking number by email when your order is shipped which will allow you to track it with Royal Mail or DPD.

In-stock orders placed by 4pm will be processed the same day.

Any items displaying "in-stock with supplier, despatched in 2-3 days" on the product page cannot be despatched the same day as they will be shipped to us from the supplier when you place your order.

Delivery Services

Standard Tracked: All orders over £50 are eligible for free standard tracked delivery by Royal Mail. For orders under £50 there is a £2.99 charge. Orders sent using standard tracked are usually delivered in 2-3 days.

Priority Tracked: For £3.99 your order is sent by premium tracked delivery which gives a 1-2 day (including Saturdays) delivery timescale. This service is provided by Royal Mail who will usually deliver on Saturdays. Orders must be placed by 4pm.

Next Day Courier: If you require next-working-day delivery then this is provided by DPD and is £6.99. Orders must be placed by 3.30pm and be fully in-stock in order to be processed before our daily DPD collection.

Saturday Delivery: You can select Saturday delivery options from DPD at the checkout.

Bike Delivery: Bikes are always delivered by courier. After placing a bike order your bike is fully assembled and tested before being carefully boxed for shipping. Because of this build process it is not always possible to offer next-day delivery on a bike. Please do get in touch if you want to know a specific despatch day on any bike on our website. Returns Info

We offer a 30 day return period on our items. We ask that items are returned in their original packaging and in re-sellable condition. We do not pay returns postage.unless we have made an error with your order.

We cannot accept the return if the item is not correctly packaged and is damaged in transit during the return trip back to us.

Please do not stick any tape or labels to the products branded outer packaging.

If you require an exchange it is recommended that you re-order the correct size/item and return the item you do not wish to keep to us for a refund.

Grip in spades
This is my second Maxxis Shorty and it won’t be my last one, this is an out and out mud tyre with mega grip and fantastic mud shedding abilities, the other reason I bought it is because it was the best price on the internet and Biketart came through not only with the great price but also the speed at which it arrived, of course it goes without saying that when I need anything else for my bike I will make Biketart my first stop, many thanks indeed.

This is my second Maxxis Shorty albeit not in the 120 tpi version though, the first one was the 60 tpi but this has every much as grip as the first, it’s as if my bike has four wheel drive, climbing steeper inclines that I couldn’t walk up on my ebike is absolutely awesome, so far I’ve not had the chance to ride all of the gnarliest trails in the Peak District but I have every bit of confidence in this tyre alongside the new Maxxis Minion DHF that I recently bought, I know I haven’t tried any other make of tyres but I don’t see any point because Maxxis tyres are fantastic in my honest opinion.
My review of Biketart is every bit as good, they were the cheapest on the internet, I placed my order and midweek and it arrived in time for me to fit both tyres plus a few other parts and get out for a ride on the following Sunday, they chose my favourite courier (Evri) too who also never fail, all in all I’m over the moon and see no reason not to give five stars for the complete service 👊
