Used these on my 105 R7000 drivetrain as recommended by other users over the more 'premium' polymer-coated cables for 105/Ultegra/DA that I believe I had on my bike previously. Apparently, the polymer coating quickly degrades and frays and doesn't provide smooth shifting for very long. The optislick cables apparently last much longer and provide 95% of the shifting friction/smoothness.

When changing my cables it did seem as if the coating had all frayed on the old ones and I have to say the improvement with the new cables is immense. The amount of reduced friction at the shifter is incredible. The shifts are also super crisp and fast. I don't know if it could get any better, so I don't see how the polymer cables could be any better. Of course, my cables were a couple of years old, so their degradation could have been the same if they were optislick, time will tell how long these new ones last.

For the new shadow-type derailleurs, you need a more flexible housing for the last connection from the frame to the RD, which is not included here. It is more like brake housing than gear housing and is not included so you must buy that separately. It is called SHIMANO RS900 Shift Outer Casing, but I couldn't find it so I used Jagwire flexible housing for Shimano RD and it worked fine.
