  • Fox 38 Float Performance Elite GRIP X2 Forks 2025

Description

The undisputed king of enduro mountain bike forks, the 38 is immediately recognisable. Further tweaked by the Fox engineers for 2025 to continue domination over the race runs and bikeparks.

When you need to go really big, reach for the 38. Optimized for 160-180mm of travel and packing the same revolutionary feature set as the 36, the 38 redefines what you think a long travel single crown fork is capable of, and sets a new benchmark for confidence, performance, and durability

Crown: the latest crown design is 20 grams lighter, enhancing durability by increasing steerer-tube overlap at the CSU, while our engineering ensures stiffness is maintained and weight is reduced.

Axle: The Kabolt features a lightweight bolt-on floating axle, crafted to shave grams and boost torsional stiffness with its sleeveless, single-sided pinch bolt design.

Lower Leg Bypass Channels: By augmenting air volume within the lower legs, Fox mitigate unintended pressure ramping. Additionally, lower leg bath oil circulates to the upper reaches of the legs, continuously lubricating the foam rings and bushings as the fork compresses and extends through its travel.

Lower Leg Bleeders: These bleeders enable atmospheric pressure equalization, enhancing fork performance, achieving full travel, and improving small bump sensitivity and responsiveness.

Lower Leg Arch: Innovative lower leg design prioritizes weight reduction without compromising the stiffness or strength required for modern enduro and gravity-style riding.

Specification:

All Mountain, Enduro
- E-bike ready: No
- Wheel size: 29"

- Fork steerer
- Suspension travel: 170 mm
- Damping: GRIP X2, closed cartridge
- Max. permissible brake disk size 230 mm
- Max. tyre width: 2.6" or min
- Offset: 44 mm

- Steerer tube design incorporates elliptical shaping in taper zone, further maximizing stiffness to weight ratio.
- Lower leg bleeders.
- Air/oil channels.
- Unique design maximizes stiffness to weight and offers improved head tube clearance via radical NEW arch shape.
- 31% stiffer transverse shear, 9% stiffer fore/aft and 20% torsionally stiffer than 36.
- Updated EVOL air spring.
- 58mm crown diameter to match modern frame shape profiles.
Optional mudguard with sturdy and seamless 4-point direct-mount attachment protects upper tubes and dust wipers from dirt and debris.

When it's time to climb, simply rotate the high-speed compression adjuster clockwise until you feel the final distinct click. At that point, Grip X simultaneously closes both high and low-speed compression, ensuring a firm platform for efficient power transfer to the pedals. Before descending, adjust the high-speed setting to your preference, and experience added traction and predictability without compromise. Grip X empowers you to dominate all-mountain terrain.

- 120g Lighter than the Grip X2 while maintaining similar traction and predictability.
- Firm Mode engages at the final click of high-speed compression, easily accessible during climbs.
- 3-Way Adjustability (rebound, high/low-speed compression) for simplified setup and enhanced trail performance.
