The GP5000 S TR is Continental’s new standard for tubeless road bike tyres and is one of the most popular tyres we sell. It’s extremely fast and works as an all-round tyre rather than being race-specific.
This is the second-generation model, replacing the original Grand Prix 5000 Tubeless Ready version. Continental claim that the GP5000 S TR is 20% faster rolling, 28% stronger in the sidewall, and 50g lighter (tested against 700 x 25c).
A slightly tougher all-road version with enhanced wet grip and puncture resistance is available here.

Love these tyres, after owning Scwable Pro One which had no puncture protection.
These GP5000 have given me loads of confidence in the corners and I don’t have to scrape sealant off my leg.

Is there a faster tyre maybe … but only just … if you are counting time to repair punctures then these are a must, have only changed after a season of riding as had plugged a split … but still had miles left in (covered 5000 + on these and had literally dozens of punctures in them. They stayed sealed with just a couple of top ups through the year for sealant, especially after cooking them on hottest day last year.
The first tyre to win both Paris Roubaix and World Road titles … is that robust and quick enough? Maybe should have led with that !
