The Abbey Bike Tools Whip It Chain Whip for Track was designed, at the request of customers working the World Cup track circuit, to help loosen super-stiff track sprockets, screwed on tightly by the power track cyclists send through their drivetrain. It's therefore absolutely bombproof.
Like the standard Whip It Chain Whip, it has a comfortably rounded stainless steel handle, hollowed out to make it lighter for inclusion in a travelling team mechanics' kit, but for added leverage the handle is a massive 17” long instead of the usual 12”.
The chain, too, is different, being 1/8” in width rather than 3/32”, so that it is compatible with the wider, single speed sprocket used on the track. Additionally, the whip is assembled with solid stainless steel aircraft rivets for extra strength, making this a tool capable of gaining sufficient purchase on your sprocket to counteract some serious force.
