Wheels Manufacturing Bearing Extractor

The Wheels Manufacturing Bearing Extractor is an essential tool for anyone needing to remove sealed bearings. Whether you're using it as a genuine spare or as a standalone tool, it ensures a smooth and efficient process.

How to Use the Wheels Manufacturing Bearing Extractor

To effectively remove sealed bearings, follow these steps:

  • Ensure you have the correct size extractor. For small extractors, use 8mm and 10mm wrenches. For larger extractors, use 13mm and 17mm wrenches, along with a hammer and punch.
  • The extractor should fit snugly into the inner diameter (I.D.) of the bearing you wish to remove.
  • Insert the extractor into the I.D. of the bearing until it sits flush with the extractor's shoulder.
  • While holding the extractor with one wrench, tighten the nut with another wrench until the extractor is firmly in place within the bearing's I.D.
  • Align a punch with the back of the extractor and gently tap until the bearing is removed along with the extractor.

Once the bearing is removed, you can install new sealed bearings using a Wheels Mfg PRESS-1 for rear hubs and bottom brackets, or a PRESS-2 for front hubs.
