Description

The Chamois Hagar is Evil's take on the modern gravel bike.

Given their mountain biking roots it's no surprise that Evil steered away from a road bike with fat tyres and instead created a bike with modern MTB features for the ultimate gravel bike.

A slack head angle gives much greater performance off road. It makes you more stable, more confident and faster, especially downhill. So too does the short 50mm stem for agile handling that is less twitchy than any of the competition.

The bike is designed to take a dropper post. Every mountain bike out there has one, if you're not a mountain biker then you'll quickly discover why they are now commonplace.

  • The Evil Chamois Hagar can accept up to 700 x 50c tyres if you want to go big. Otherwise whack on some 30-40mm tyres if you're wanting more speed on the road.
  • The frame and fork take flat-mount disc brake calipers and you can fit 140 or 160mm rotors.
  • There's seven water bottle mounts for huge versatility or if you're really thirsty.
  • There's some subtle rack and fender mounts if you're off adventuring.
  • The frame is fully internally routed and is set for Di2.

          Oh sweet baby Jesus!

FUN!!!! it is just so good. People keep proudly saying that their gravel bike is just like a 90s MTB, but there is a reason we don't ride 90s MTBs any more. They were twitchy AF and you were constantly trying not to go flying over the massive stem as the front wheel was under you nose. MTBs have managed to move away from steep angles and make bikes that give you confidence and room to move when off road. I cannot believe it has taken this long for people to even just try this on a drop bar bike and I am so glad Evil did and I bought it. It absolutely flys on and off road and the more you push it the more you get back, it is such a rewarding ride. I guess if you want a bike that looks like all the other glossy clones on instagram and rides just like your parents road bikes, then sadly this is not for you. But if you get the chance ride one, ride it fast and ride it somewhere spicy (or not, it is still pretty sweet on road just pump the tyres up), I think you too will see just how much fun it actually is. Thank you Evil, you are geniuses.
