Women’s Festival of Cycling – Biketart Ladies Ride – 8 July 2018

In celebration of the growing number of women riders we joined Cycling UK’s Women’s Festival of Cycling 2018 with a ladies ride round the local woods and lanes. As the ride came closer we kept our fingers crossed that the glorious sunshine would hold and we were in luck. Our mechanic, Vicky, was leading the ride and she spent a couple of early mornings before work scoping out the route. Kent is known as the Garden of England and Biketart is set in the middle of the Elham Valley, with... Read More

Redefining the XC Hardtail with the new Santa Cruz Highball

You know how it is. You are blasting along your favourite local singletrack. You’re pushing hard, heart rate red lining, pedals spinning, getting the most out of your bike. And then, out of nowhere, someone just passes you. Just flies by. You look up. What are they riding? Latest full suspension rig? Maybe that new Santa Cruz Blur they’ve all been talking about. But no! It is a hard tail. You just got left for dust by a hardtail! You just got burned by the new Santa Cruz Highball. For... Read More

From striped zebra, to leaf life stick insects to bark coloured treecreepers – all very clever. But it all looks like kids playing hide and seek compared to the amazing chameleon. Capable of actually changing their skin colour by internally manipulating a range of pigments at different levels, allowing them to blend in, signal to other chameleons and even regulate their body temperature, they are one of the most adaptable creatures in the... Santa Cruz Bikes – A History of High Performance

Santa Cruz Bikes – A History of High Performance Santa Cruz Bicycles was founded in 1993 in a space the size of a single car garage in the Seabright Cannery, in Santa Cruz California. From the very beginning, they innovated, producing a ‘simple yet advanced’ full suspension bike, the Tamzon, as their first bike.
