Application & Removal
Biketape Application
Biketape is easy to apply. Proper application will ensure it stays in place for years to come. It’s worth taking your time so you get the best results.
We don’t recommend Biketape for anodised bikes.
1 Clean the surface area well, ideally with degreaser – but make sure no cleaning product is left on the frame
2 Measure the surface you want to protect
3 Cut the tape to the required size using sharp scissors or a craft knife
4 Peel back the white backing strip from one end to expose the sticky side
5 Apply to the surface, peeling away the backing strip & smoothing from the centre towards the edges as you go
6 Using a hairdryer to heat the tape will help create a stronger bond & make it easier to apply to tight curves
Biketape Removal
Biketape is not permanent and can be removed. If it has been left on for a long time, take extra care. No residue is left behind when the tape is removed.
Should you wish to remove Biketape from your frame, please do so paying attention to the below points:
1 Take your time
2 Heat the tape with a hair-dryer, this will soften the bond with the frame
3 Using your fingernail, carefully peel up a corner of the tape
4 Slowly and gently pull back the corner of the tape. It may require some pressure, but ensure you remove it slowly and with care.
5 Use degreaser or solvent to help if it’s really stuck down.
