New for 2011. The semi-deep carbon rim on the 38RSC combines the convenience of an alloy brake track with the performance of an aero carbon rim, making these wheels great for sprinting, climbing, descending or whatever the road ahead brings. With its stouter configuration, the 38RSC is also a good choice for rougher roads or heavier riders.
Hubset
The 38RSC clincher rims are laced to the TdF2.4 proprietary hub, designed and manufactured in the USA. The rear hub features our Patented Differential Flange Diameter, which doubles the number of pulling spokes and creates a more durable wheel. Both hubs are fully CNC machined and feature oversized axles, increasing the wheel durability and stiffness without increasing the wheel weight.
Freehubs
CNC machined Titanium freehub body has 3 independently sprung steel pawls for a bomb-proof torque transfer system. This system is strong, simple and dependable.
Rims
Designed and reinforced for the low spoke count 20H Rear and high spoke tensions, the 38mm deep carbon is co-molded with an alloy rim cap for clincher compatibility and alloy brake tracks. These features add another level of convenience and toughness from predictable braking performance and quick tire changes to added impact resistance. This proprietary carbon fiber rim offers superior lateral and torsional stiffness for all the power you can put into it. Not to be mistaken for a one-trick-pony, the 38RSC is more aero than other wheels in its class.
Spoke and Nipple
The 38RSC wheel set features paired, 14 gauge custom bladed spokes with internal alloy nipples with nylon inserts to create a quicker accelerating, faster climbing wheel with superior, long-term durability. Self-locking thread technology ensures wheels stay true longer. Our Patented, Jacketed Nipple Design™ reduces spoke bending loads and wind drag, increasing spoke life and contributing to a more durable, stiff and aerodynamic wheel system.
